no sé, eh?

https://techcrunch.com/2026/10/27/frontier-ai-labs-say-their-models-refuted-the-exponential-time-hypothesis-what-does-that-mean/

Imagine you have a massive key ring with billions of keys, and you are trying to find the one key that opens a special chest.

For a long time, the smartest people in the world believed a rule: "As the key ring gets bigger, finding the right key will always take an impossibly long time." They even wrote thousands of math rules based on this belief.

Suddenly, AI found a brand new trick. It realized you don't have to try the keys one by one. By looking at the shapes of the keys and using a special math trick, it can rule out giant batches of keys all at once. The AI proved that finding the key is faster than we thought possible.

2. The Physics Part (The Puzzle)

Scientists use a giant machine called the Large Hadron Collider to smash tiny particles together. They use a math playbook called Quantum Field Theory to predict what will happen.

While the playbook works perfectly in real life, mathematicians hated it. Why? Because the math equations had giant "cheats" and missing pieces in them. For 50 years, humans couldn't fix the math.

The AI stepped in and fixed the math. It wrote a flawless, bulletproof proof showing that the playbook's rules make perfect mathematical sense without any cheats.

Why is this such a big deal?

The AI didn't just guess these answers. Scientists plugged the AI's math into a special computer checker called Lean, which double-checks every single line of code. The computer checker confirmed: The AI is 100% correct.

Would you like to know more about why this doesn't break computer passwords, or how the computer checked the AI's math to make sure it wasn't lying?

y sobre P=NP

The P vs. NP problem is like a question about a giant maze: "If it is easy to check someone's path through a maze, does that mean it must also be easy to find the path from scratch?" [1, 3]

To understand it, think of two types of puzzles:

1. "P" Puzzles (Easy to Solve)

"P" stands for Polynomial time, but you can just think of it as Easy.

  • These are problems that a computer can solve very quickly, even if the problem gets huge.

  • Examples: Alphabetizing a list of a million names, or finding the shortest driving route on Google Maps.

2. "NP" Puzzles (Easy to Check)

"NP" stands for Nondeterministic Polynomial time, but you can think of it as Easy to Check. [3]

  • If someone gives you the answer to these puzzles, you can instantly see if they are right. But if you have to find the answer yourself, it takes forever. [1]

  • Examples: A Sudoku puzzle, a 1,000-piece jigsaw puzzle, or a locked combination safe. If someone says, "The combination is 4-2-9," you can check it in two seconds. But if you have to guess the combination yourself, you might be there all day. [1]

The Big Question: Does P = NP?

The hypothesis asks: Is every puzzle that is easy to check (NP) secretly also easy to solve (P), if we were just smart enough to find the right trick? [1, 3]

  • If P = NP: It means there is a magical shortcut for every hard problem in the universe. Finding a cure for a disease, cracking any computer password, or scheduling millions of flights perfectly would suddenly become as easy as checking a Sudoku puzzle. [3]

  • If P does NOT equal NP (which most scientists believe): It means some problems are just fundamentally, truly hard, and no matter how smart we get, there are no magical shortcuts. [3]

Whoever proves whether P = NP or not wins a $1 million prize—and changes human history forever.

Would you like to see how this connects to your computer passwords, or how the AI's new trick fits into this giant puzzle?
